Hero Karizma XMR bike: All you need to know

Over two decades ago, the Karizma bike debuted in the Indian two-wheeler market. The first generation was developed during the Hero-Honda era. This mid-range sport-tourer homegrown bike debuted in 2003. Back then, the Karizma was among the bestselling Hero bikes in the country.
Now, fast-forwarding to 2023, the new iteration of the Hero Karizma received the ‘XMR‘ moniker.
Since the Karizma XMR is a new generation, it is tacit that this bike has received an all-new frame, an all-new engine and a cosmetic upgrade.
So, if you are planning to buy this bike, below are a few things that you should keep in mind.

 

Specifications

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Hero Karizma XMR is structured on an all-new steel trellis frame. This robust and lightweight frame supports a 210-cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which is tuned to churn out 25.15 bhp at 9250 rpm and 20.4 Nm of peak torque at 7250 rpm. This engine makes the rear wheel spin via a standard six-speed manual transmission. For added benefit, this bike’s manual transmission is equipped with an assist and slipper clutch. This feature is engineered to offer smooth gear shifts at high speeds and cornerings.

In addition, the company claims that this bike boasts a top speed of 130 km/h.
Apart from that, the fuel tank capacity of the Hero Karizma XMR is 11 litres. Alongside, the reserve fuel tank is rated at 2.2 litres.

 

Suspensions, Brakes and Tyres

As for the suspension setup, the Hero Karizma XMR is equipped with a telescopic front fork with an anti-friction brush suspension at the front and a six-step pre-load adjustable gas-charged monoshock suspension at the rear. Given the Karimza XMR price, it has an impressive suspension setup. This bike should offer the best of both worlds- track performance and comfortable ride quality. That said, this bike is engineered by keeping the conditions of Indian roads in mind. It should absorb the undulations with ease.
At the same time, the braking duties are taken care of by dual disc brakes. The front disc brake measures 300mm, while the rear disc brake measures 230mm. Further, this bike runs on 17-inch alloy rims. The tyre profiles are different at the front and rear. The front has 100/80 R17, while the rear end has 140/70 R17.
On the safety front, the indigenous automotive giant has also offered a dual-channel ABS. This active safety feature provides safety around the corners, wet-road conditions and during emergency brakings.

 

Dimensions

In terms of proportions, the Hero Karizma XMR has a length of 2068mm, a width of 760mm, and a height of 1110mm. Further, it sits on a wheelbase of 1351mm. In addition, the 2023 Hero Karizma has a seat height of 810mm, a ground clearance of 160mm and a kerb weight of 163.5 kg.

 

Features

This homegrown 210cc sport tourer offering is packed with features and is offered in a standard variant only. Having said that, once you ingress on this bike, it will welcome you with a fully digital instrument cluster, which displays relevant readings, such as speed, RPM, fuel level, trip meters, time, and navigation. Further, the digital cluster also houses a gear indicator, a low fuel indicator, a low engine oil indicator, a low battery indicator, and a service reminder indicator.
Apart from that, the Hero Karizma XMR offers a side stand alarm, a USB charging port, a pass light, an electric start, and a hazard indicator switch. For illumination, this bike is equipped with an LED headlight, an LED tail light, an LED brake light, LED turn lamps, and LED DRLs. It also packs an automatic headlight-on feature.
For seating, the Hero Karizma XMR has a stepped seat, which houses a pillion seat with pillion footrests and pillion grabrails.

For an enhanced ownership experience, the bike also boasts a mobile connectivity feature. It allows the owner to access the vehicle status remotely, plus the app also shows live location, fuel level, live speed, maintenance update(s), and other relevant information.
